Grzegorz Polak works at the Faculty of Philosophy and Sociology of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. His research focuses primarily on attempts to reconstruct the soteriological and meditative doctrine of early Buddhism and its subsequent evolution within Theravāda Buddhism up to the present day.

Another subject of his interest is reconciling various aspects of Buddhism with the findings of rapidly developing contemporary sciences: cognitive science, neuroscience and evolutionary science.
